A GRADE 11 pupil at Zimba Secondary School of Southern Province aged between 17 and 18 years old has drowned at the Victoria Falls in Livingstone.
James Malinki who was in the company of his auntie, met his fate at the boiling point after he was swept away by strong currents.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso has confirmed the development to the Daily Nation in Livingstone.
Mr Kapeso said the drowning happened between 12:00 hours and 13:00 hours.
“A boy identified as James Malinki aged between 17 and 18, Grade 11 pupil of Zimba secondary school was swept away by the strong current at the boiling point in the company of his auntie.
“The drowning happened between 12 and 1300hrs yesterday and the search still continues,” he said.
And by early evening yesterday, the body of the deceased had not yet been retrieved.
