A NIPA student has been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrate Court on 13 counts of forgery and obtaining money by false pretences.
Chifuka Chundu 23 of Chibolya compound is alleged to have obtained K5,400 from Martin Mweetwa and Pretty Moomba by pretending that they would be offered jobs as chefs and office assistants respectively in the ministry of Works and Supply when infect not.
Chundu is also alleged to have forged appointment letters of the same victims that they had been offered employment.
His case will come up for plea before Magistrate Nthandose Chabala.
Meanwhile, A 36-year-old man of Kanyama compound has been dragged to court for stealing 5 desktop computers, valued at K80, 200 from Lusaka Central Correctional Facility.
According to an indictment filed in the Lusaka Magistrate’s court, Bright Bwalya of Kanyama is alleged to have broken into the prison on September 15, 2017.
Bwalya is facing one count of breaking into a building with intent to commit a felony.
“Bright Penius Bwalya on September 15 2017, while in Lusaka jointly and while acting with other persons unknown did break and enter in the Zambia Correctional Services with intent to commit a felony namely to steal and did steal therein 5 Desktop computers altogether valued at K80, 200, the property of the Zambia Correctional Services,” the document read.
Bwalya is expected to take plea before Lusaka magistrate Felix Kaoma.
And the case of a 30-year-old man also of Lusaka, charged with trespassing is waiting reallocation in the Lusaka Magistrate’s court.
Royd Kashiwa is alleged to have unlawfully entered the premises of the Government House (plot 2) with intent to
annoy.
The incident is believed to have occurred on October 10, 2017 in Lusaka.
