IKELENGE Local Court has been completed and is fully operational, Ikelenge District Commissioner Victor Kayekesi has said.
Mr Kayekesi said the new court is awaiting commissioning. Meanwhile, works on the construction of the district administration offices have reached an advanced stage.
Mr Kayekesi told the Daily Nation in an interview the completion of the structure enhanced the speedy delivery of justice system in the district. He said previously, court cases used to take long to be disposed of due to lack of court premises. “As earlier stated, the court building is fully operational all we are waiting for in the building to be commissioned,” Mr Kayekesi said.
He said the people in the district were happy with the structure and commended president Edgar Lungu for his commitment towards infrastructure development.
And Mr Kayekesi further revealed that the construction of the district administration offices is at 90 percent while staff houses are at 85 percent.
He said once completed, the offices would result in the efficient delivery of services to the people of Ikelenge.
“As for staff houses, that will motivate officers that have been deployed in the district, ” he added.
