MTN/FAZ Super Division side Napsa Stars say they will prepare adequately for this weekend’s Super League fixture against 2016 league runners-up Zesco United to be played in Lusaka.
In an interview with journalists after Napsa edged Nkwazi 1-0 in a Week 4 fixture at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka, Napsa assistant coach Linos Makwaza said Zesco was a strong team, hence the need for the “Pensioners” to prepare adequately.
“We will face Zesco United in our next game and we will prepare adequately for them.
“Zesco is a good team but we will prepare adequately for them. What will be crucial will be collecting maximum three points,” Makwaza said.
Makwaza said the team was working on scoring more goals, having scored only four goals from the four games played in the Super League.
The Tenant Chilumba-coached side started the season on a flying note, defeating Nchanga Rangers 3-0 in the Week One fixture.
Napsa then failed to find the back of the net in the 1-0 loss to Power Dynamos in the second league fixture.
The pensioners also failed to score in the 2-0 loss to Nkana in the Week Three fixture before scoring their fourth goal which came in the 1-0 win against Nkwazi.
Makwaza noted that the pensioners will have to improve on their scoring abilities if they were to remain competitive.
“So far so good. We just have to continue encouraging our boys. We have a new team of young players.
‘‘We just have to improve on finding the back of the net. We missed a number of chances in the game against Nkwazi but we will work on our finishing,” Makwaza said.
Having played four games in the league, Napsa lie seventh on the Super Division table with six points.
