LUNTE residents have complained that their Member of Parliament, Mutotwe Kafwaya, has been absent from the district.
This happened at a public meeting which was attended by former MP, Felix Mutati, in Lunte at the weekend.
The people kept shouting in the crowd that Mr. Kafwaya never visited the area when he stood up to address them.
In response, Mr. Kafwaya assured his voters that development would soon reach Lunte.
Mr. Kafwaya said Lunte would soon have new roads and bridges to encourage trade in the area.
“I will continue to work with Mr Mutati to ensure that development is brought to Lunte. Mr. Mutati is my elder brother who left me this seat and we will work together towards developing Lunte,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mutati asked the crowd to work with the MP in developing the district.
Mr. Mutati said Government would soon build a new secondary school as well as a new hospital in the district.
“We will also donate 10 computers to Mukupa Kaoma Secondary School. The head teacher just told us that the school only has one computer,” he said.
He also promised the people that Government would assist them to export maize to Kenya.
Mr. Mutati had thanked the voters for working with him during his tenure as Lunte MP.
