LUMWANA Radiants yesterday recorded sweet victory, thumping over rated Green Buffaloes in a Week 29 encounter at Lumwana Grounds.
The Solwezi outfit put up an impressive performance to defeat Buffaloes 3-1.
A brace from Hosea Silwamba and a goal from Chanda Mushili was all that Lumwana needed to halt Buffaloes’ aim of opening a three point lead on the summit of the Super League.
Silwimba scored the two goals under 20 minutes before Mushili slithered in the third goal on 34th minute.
Buffaloes pulled one back through Friday Samu in 42nd minute.
Meanwhile, Zesco United beat Real Nakonde 2-0 to reposition their target of winning the title. John Chin’gandu and Jesse Were handed Zesco the much needed victory.
Despite head coach Albert Mphande missing on the bench after the club handed him a three-match leave, Nkwazi still managed to beat Konkola Blades 1-0 thanks to Jubell Sakala goal in the 16th minute.
At Godfrey “Ucar” Chitalu Stadium, hosts Kabwe Warriors were held to a barren draw by Nkana. Both teams struggled to find the back of the net with Nkana’s Bornwell Mwape missing clear chances in the second half.
Power Dynamos beat Nakambala 2-0 at Kitwe’s Arthur Davies Stadium Jimmy Ndhlovu and Kennedy Mundenda contributing a goal apiece in 42nd and 62nd minutes.
Bruce Musakanya’s close range shot in the 64th minute gave Red Arrows victory over NAPSA Stars. The two sides played to a stalemate in the first half but it was Arrows who returned strong and picked the three points.
In today’s fixture, Lusaka Dynamos face off with Nchanga Rangers while defending champions Zanaco take on struggling City of Lusaka in a double-header at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
If Zanaco defeat City, they will go three points clear on top of the log.
