Hopefully commercial banks will follow suit by reducing interest rates on loans because the Bank of Zambia has lowered the monetary policy rate by 50 basis points to 9.75 percent from 10.25 percent while the statutory reserve ratio has been reduced to 5 percent from 8 percent.
