UPND should revive its political agenda to the nation, insulting President Edgar Lungu and his Government everyday will not put them in power, National Revolution Party (NRP) president Cosmo Mumba has said.
Mr Mumba noted that the past defeats that the party suffered was a clear indication of Zambian’s rejecting their message.
He told the Daily Nation in an interview that the UPND should to go back to their drawing table and revise their agenda.
He said insulting the President and Government daily would not make them win elections in 2021, but that it was an indication that they had nothing to tell the Zambian people.
“The only thing they always talk about it is Edgar Lungu and his Government, why can’t they talk about what they would do for the Zambia if at all they get in power? People are tired of their daily allegations which they can’t even prove.
“The most logical thing the UPND can do right now is to go back to their drawing table and revise their agenda, they must ask themselves why they have been losing,” he said.
And Mr Mumba has charged that continued refusal to accept the leadership of President Lungu by the UPND left much to be desired, especially that the party was aspiring to lead the nation.
“It is undeniable and inescapable fact that throughout the political history of every living country on earth all the elections are won in the ballot box.
“It is sad that up to now, the UPND still refuses to recognise President Lungu, this behaviour is unacceptable especially for a party that wants to lead Zambia,” Mr Mumba said.
Meanwhile, Mr Mumba has reaffirmed his support for the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party and President Edgar Lungu.
He pledged that his party would continue to work with the Government of the day, for the betterment of the Zambian people.
“As NRP, we would like to assure the Government of the day of faithful and undivided loyalty. We respect the will of the people and we respect the fact that the mantle of leadership has been entrusted in the PF,” he said.
