POLITICAL activist Dante Saunders has vowed that he will never forgive President Michael Sata for having betrayed the trust of the Zambians by forgetting about the plight of the majority poor and vulnerable citizens.
Mr. Saunders has said President Sata’s vision and care for the poor has been impaired by his greed and desire to work and protect people of questionable reputations.
Mr. Saunders said in an interview that President Sata new the sufferings of the majority poor Zambians but has chosen to deliberately ignore them purely on selfish political reasons.
Mr. Saunders said he had strongly differed with President Sata on his style of leadership and his inability to comprehend basic governance issues.
Mr Saunders said he was disappointed that Post Newspaper Editor Fred M’membe and Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Mutembo Nchito were scheming to get away with the K18 billion loan they contracted from the Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ).
Mr Saunders worked closely with President Sata when the Head of State was in the opposition and had exhibited the desire to serve the poor, the aspiration that seem to have quickly evaporated from his mind and heart.
“I will never forgive Mr Sata because he has betrayed the trust of the many Zambians who thought there would be hope for voting for him and his party. Mr Sata knows the suffering of the people but he has chosen to forget about them. I have strongly differed with him on his style of leadership and his inability to comprehend governance issues,” Mr Saunders said.
He said the dictatorial tendencies being exhibited by President Sata and his Patriotic Front were worrying and has urged Zambians to stand and fight for democracy.
Mr Saunders said President Sata should now that never ever would Zambians allow the country to get back to a one party state.
He explained that when President Sata and the PF were in opposition, they fought for their rights but wondered why the ruling party and its leadership were now abusing the rights of citizens.
“I want to tell Mr Sata that start digging my grave because I will not stop criticizing you on your poor governance record. Mr Sata and the PF were in the opposition and fought for thei rights but today they are in forefront of abusing the rights of other people. Let Mr Sata know that never ever will Zambia get back to a one party state,” Mr Saunders said.
Mr Saunders said President Sata should stop blaming the opposition UPND for their failure to deliver on their promises.
He wondered why Mr Sata has been silent on the problems facing the education, health and agriculture sectors adding that the Head of State was preoccupying himself with maligning leaders of the opposition political parties.
