I HAVE never left the pulpit as I have been preaching all this time, says MMD faction leader Nevers Mumba.
Speaking to the Daily Nation after the adjournment of his case yesterday to September 21, Dr. Mumba said he had been preaching every time even when he was republican Vice-President under late President Levy Mwanawasa
“Seriously Daily Nation, I will talk to you later not today. I know you are an employee of a bad company, a very bad company,
“What you need to correct is what you wrote yesterday (Wednesday) that ‘Nevers Mumba returns to the pulpit’ after whatever you wrote. I have never left the pulpit,
“I preach every time. I used to preach when I was Vice President, I preach when I am MMD president. So what do you mean when you say Nevers returns to the pulpit? Just to be scornful or what? Just go and correct that. That is enough news okay? Thank you very much,” Dr. Mumba said.
Dr. Mumba is charged with criminal trespass at ZNBC but when the matter came up yesterday for judgement, it was adjourned to September 21 after the State failed to file written submissions in time.
Public prosecutor Victor Choongo told Principal Resident Magistrate David Simusamba that the State would file written submissions later today after having failed to file in time as ordered by the court.
Defence lawyer Mutule Museba of Simeza Sangwa Associates did not object to the application for extension of filing time.
“Further we pray that the defence is given the liberty to respond to the said written submissions within seven days of service by the prosecution,” Mr. Museba said.
And an impeccable source disclosed that the current ‘Zambia Shall Be Saved’ programmes being aired on Radio Christian Voice every Tuesday from 05:05 hours were allegedly a replay of old recordings of the once popular television programme.
