We, as small contractors in the road sector, are getting irritated when the nice looking Minister of Finance announces huge sums of money – K4.2 billion – paid out to contractors and yet he knows it well that none of the small contractors have benefitted. Basically, this money is going outside the country and Kwacha against the dollar will crush. Why are these people in financial authority fond of impressing foreign companies than their own? What happens with our workers and the local contractor?
