ZAMBIA under-20 lethal striker Fashion Sakala on Saturday banged in the only goal for his Russian side Spartak Moscow II in a 1-0 win over Orenburg.
Sakala, who was impressive, powered in a header in the 54th minute to hand his side the much needed three points. Spartak Moscow is second on the Division One table with six points.
He later posted on his Facebook page thanking God for a starting the new season on a high note.
“Thanking so much papa God for answering my prayers. Family, friends and fans, I really appreciate your support and it means a lot to me. It’s a good start to the season,” he posted.
Sakala became a household name during the 2017 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, aiding Zambia to her maiden title. His excellent performance landed him a three-year contract with Spartak Moscow B side.
The quick-footed striker was a marvel to watch at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in South Korea, as together with teammates reached the quarter-finals overcoming big guns in the likes of Portugal and Germany.
