PRESIDENT Edger Lungu yesterday branded Copperbelt as the base for confusion in the ruling PF.
He has since called for a meeting to be held at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
And earlier in Mbala President Lungu said all those who did not accept his Presidency were just wasting their time. It was ridiculous, he said, for some people to refuse to accept him and yet recognise the Vice President and other government institutions, which were under his authority.
In a hard hitting speech on arrival at the Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe Airport in Ndola yesterday, President Lungu said he was fed up with the on goings in the party and called for a meeting.
Addressing the crowd which welcomed him at the Simon Kapwepwe Airport, the President directed provincial minister, Copperbelt PF elected members of parliament, Mayors, council chairpersons and provincial party leadership and district to be present at the meeting that was planned for Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
“I am tired of people speaking behind other people’s bacs and have heard enough. Let’s meet at 18:30 and the reason is simple, Copperbelt has been the base of confusion in PF.,” the President said as the crowd cheered.
“Chishimba Kambwili has issues, Mwenya Musenge has issues, Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson has issues with Ndola mayor, mayor with provincial minister I want to hear those problems,” he said
“Some of you think you are very powerful, some of you think you found the party, some of you think you can manipulate the party, I want to put it clear the party is the membership. Some of you were appointed and some of you elected on party ticket.
The President said he wanted to establish the PF leaders on the Copperbelt were bickering like small boys.
“Police should be present at the meeting in case any fights break out because it is expected that it is going to boil and I am ready for violence,” President Lungu angrily said.
He emphasized that some members of the party were claiming to own the party but questioned who they were to own the party as there was nothing original about being a PF member.
He indicated that anyone could join the party at any time and be adopted for any position which they could save on.
He further directed Deputy Party secretary general Mumbi Phiri who was present at the airport to communicate with the members of the central committee to which in three weeks he was to call for a meeting to address issues in the party.
He challenged the MCC of the party to be present at the meeting in the third week of July and face him with their burning issues.
