Musician Chester has embarked on a new style of performances to meet the changing music demands. The ‘Shonongo’ and ‘Belinda’ hits maker says he is now ready for live performances to fully satisfy his fans.
The musician who is a renowned songwriter and producer with a unique sound sampled his new style of stage performances last Saturday when he played at Lusaka’s Mayela Nightclub in Kalingalinga. Accompanied by his all-time peers and colleagues, Orange Boy of the ‘Mutobe Ilibwe’ fame and Mbototo among many, the singer was categorical to introduce Muba Lead Man, a guitarist to his camp.
This was to emphasize on the need to perform live music and his direction for future shows.
“Ama CDs tu leleka, apa nomba twalyamba Live music uno mwaka [we are abandoning CDs (playback) and start live music this year],” he announced to a cheering crowd that had been waiting for over three hours to see him perform.
His performance which started after midnight was then followed with a medley of his popular songs played live with Muba on guitar. This he did to show his supportive audience his new direction to music.
The singer then switched to the playback style and was joined by his aggressive yet entertaining dancers. His show was not short of interaction as members of the audience sang and danced along.
Before he got to the stage, Chester was initially supported by the likes of Bobby J of the ‘Nsunko’ fame, Mbototo and
Orange Boy.
