SOUTHERN Province permanent secretary Sibanze Simuchoba has applauded CEC Liquid Telecom for bringing broadband connectivity to the region because it is in line with Government’s 2020 vision of development.
Mr Simuchoba said the introduction of the broadband connectivity was a milestone in the province as it marked the rollout of the LiTE speed of a high speed wireless internet services.
Mr Simuchoba said this during the launch of CEC Liquid Telecom Livingstone office on Friday evening.
“I am happy to note that CEC Liquid Telecom is significantly contributing to the achievements of Zambia’s 2020 vision by the interconnecting schools with affordable broadband,” he said.
Mr Simuchoba said LiTE speed internet is expected to provide an optimal communication solution for corporate organization including small and medium- sized entities.
“This on-going investment is a clear indication of the commitment that the company has in improving telecommunication in the country.
“I wish to commend CEC Liquid for extending the coverage of this innovation product to the rest of the country,” he said.
He said this will not only increase the efficiency of doing business but also enable cost containment.
He said telecommunication was the cornerstone of almost every aspect of doing business in the country globally to which Zambia was not exceptional.
“LiTE speed internet will meet high bandwidth requirements and technology enabler not only for high quality data, but also for voice and video applications, providing triple benefits to its customers,” he said.
And CEC Liquid Telecomm managing director Andrew Kapula said his firm would provide the best service to the people of Southern Province and Livingstone in particular.
Mr Kapula disclosed that CEC Liquid Telecomm has invested over US$5.5 million country wide.
He was hopeful that by the end of this year, the company will be able cover the whole province.
Mr Kapula called on people who were interested to resell their internet services by engaging the company.
