MOST of the roads in Kafulafuta constituency in Masaiti will be upgraded to all-weather gravel roads against the earlier intention of tarring them, Member of Parliament, Joseph Kabamba has said.Mr Kabamba said because of limited funds, Government had settled for ‘all- weather friendly’ gravel roads which would still allow smooth movement of goods.“As for the road network, most of the roads that were supposed to be tarred have been diverted to gravel roads ones because Government is somehow constrained where resources are concerned,” Mr Kabamba said.He said the roads would instead be upgraded to bituminous standards later, when adequate resources are made available.Mr. Kabamba said roads such as the Chiwala-Chilengwa and Mutaba- Munkulungwe roads were key links and would soon be upgraded to bituminous standards.He said the roads were key in facilitating the movement of farm produce to the market.He said once upgraded to bituminous standards, the Mutaba- Munkulungwe road would shorten the distance between […]
