By KALOBWE BWALYAGOVERNMENT has been advised to make amends to improve service delivery in the health sector.Medical for Quality Healthcare in Zambia (MQHZ has advised the Ministry of Health to refocus and make a lot of amends in order to overcome challenges that continue to afflict the health sector in Zambia.The association has observed that the year 2020 has evidently been a very difficult year for the health sector in Zambia citing Medical Stores’ failure to consistently supply medicines for all Zambians in public health facilities.MQHZ director general, Dr Quince Mwabu said apart from the severe effects of the Covid-19 on the health system, the country also faced acute shortages of drugs and this affected health delivery.Dr Mwabu said, 2020 also saw the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) fail to regulate, control the manufacture, importation, sale and use of medicines and allied substances in Zambia.Dr Mwabu said Zambians expected improved health insurance, from National Health […]
