National Council for Construction (NCC) has expressed disappointment with the pace at which the ongoing construction works at Kasama sports stadium is moving at.NCC Board Chairperson Vitalis Mooya says the contractor who is undertaking works at the stadium has shown lack of seriousness and needs close supervision for him to deliver the works on time.He noted that Nambwa Construction Company was contracted to undertake works at the stadium in November last year and was expected to complete the works in June this year. Mooya observed that the contractor has however failed to deliver the project on time adding there is need to summon him so that he can explain the problem.He explained that while government wants to empower the local contractors by giving them work, some have failed to deliver.Mooya said the council will ensure sanity in the sector by only registering companies that have the capacity to carry out works.He said this in Kasama shortly […]
