BY DORICA SAKALAExcitement has gripped candidates whose names have been published in the media released yesterday.On Thursday the Teaching Service Commission announced that 30,496 applicants were successful.And yesterday morning crowds of expectant unemployed teachers gathered around the publication companies waiting to see the lists.Meanwhile stakeholders in the education sector have expressed confidence that the recruitment will help address the teacher shortages in the country. Zambia National Education Coalition ZANEC Executive Director George Hamusunga is delighted with the recruitment of over 30,000 and hopes that teacher recruitment will follow with immediate deployment in schools where they are required the most.Mr. Hamusunga says the introduction of free education called for more teachers in learning institutions and the government’s decision to recruit the 30,496 teachers is a good start.He has therefore urged the selected teachers to put in their best in working to improve the quality of education in Zambia.And National Action for Quality Education (NAQEZ) has urged the […]
