By LUCY PHIRIA couple arrested through the Cyber Crime Unit in a case of obscene material which was circulating on various social media platforms with gospel music playing in the background has appeared at the Lusaka Magistrate Court.John Chewe and Angela Kapumba are charged with one count of prohibition of pornography contrary to Section 102(e) of the Electronic Communication and Transactions Act no 21 of 2009 of the Laws of Zambia, and one count of giving false information to a public officer contrary to Section 125 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.When the matter came up yesterday, Chief Resident Makalicha allocated it to magistrate Felix Kaoma for commencement of plea.Last year Police arrested Chewe, 31, a Pharmacist and Kapumba, 24, a dental assistant both working at a private Hospital in Lusaka, for allegedly producing obscene material.The matter has been set for March 11, for commencement of plea
