Mr Phiri told the Daily Nation that the water utility company was prepared to supply water to all Lusaka residents throughout the year because the dry spell would not affect them. “We have had the worst drought in the past like in 1996 which affected the whole country and there was really no rain but the supply was not affected because of the level at which the pumps are which is 13 meters deep,” he said.
