Speaking during a luncheon celebration of Zambian recipients of Turkish scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year yesterday Turkish ambassador to Zambia, Sebnem Incesu says out of the 217 Zambian students that applied only 6 of the candidates were selected for undergraduate studies and 14 for post graduate studies. Candidates selected will study in various disciplines such as economics, biomedical engineering, veterinary and medicine among many others, Ms Incesu said. Ms Incesu said Turkey has been providing scholarships programmes to international students since the 1990s as an important vehicle for cultural diplomacy and mainly to contribute to the improvement of mutual understanding of all people around the world.
