By GRACE CHAILE The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has handed down a six-year sentence with hard labor to two men, Alick Bulayani and Erasmus Mukalahani, for illegally possessing protected animal products, specifically lion bones. The duo was found guilty of violating Section 130 (1) of the Zambia Wildlife Act No.14 of 2015. According to the prosecution, Bulayani, a 45-year-old car dealer of John Laing Compound and Mukalahani, a 32-year-old miner from maamba, were in possession of 17 lion skulls and other bones, weighing 222.4 kilograms, on November 28, 2021.
