By BUUMBA CHIMBULU THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has pounced on Spax Mining Limited on the Copperbelt on charges of furnishing false statements and returns. This is contrary to sections 43 of the Value Added Tax (VAT) Act Chapter 331 of the laws of Zambia. Manager-ZRA Corporate Communications, Oliver Nzala said in a statement issued yesterday that this action was ZRA’s desire to crack down on tax evasion in the country. Mr Nzala has highlighted that this fraudulent action by the taxpayer, resulted in loss of Government revenue in VAT amounting to K4, 490,523.68.
