By GIDEON NYENDWAEQUITY and Economic Party president Chilufya Tayali yesterday allegedly assaulted a police officer at Chilenje police station in Lusaka where he was detained after being nabbed upon arrival from South Africa.According to a police report from the University Teaching Hospital, Mr Tayali threw a kettle at Ms. Melody Malama.The report indicated that she experienced general body pains.Mr Tayali was arrested in Livingstone last Thursday on his return from South Africa.After his arrest, he was then transported to Lusaka and was being held at Chilenje police station without being charged.And by press time, Mr Tayali was warned and cautioned. He wasl also moved from Chilenje to Kabwata Police Station.
