By GIDEON NYENDWA PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema and his predecessor Edgar Lungu missed the opportunity to reconcile and unite on the national day of prayer which would have enhanced unity of purpose in the nation, veteran politician George Mpombo has said.Dr. Mpombo said the two leaders were supposed to be there side by side during this national event and the nation would have gotten a cue out of that gesture.He said the nation looks up to the leaders and when they engage in constructive meetings, national unity and reconstruction such actions trickle down to the people.Dr. Mpombo said the national day of prayer provided an opportunity for the two leaders to meet and draw up an agenda for national reconstruction and unity because without that the nation would just be tinkling at the edges.He said the country cannot continue to be in a perpetual state of hatred and resentment.“These are evils that undermine humanity and unity of purpose,” he said.Dr. Mpombo said the two leaders […]
