By KETRA KALUNGANEW guidelines on awarding of fuel tankers under the youth empowerment program have been put in place to ensure transparency and accountability, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Art permanent secretary, Kangwa Chileshe has said.The government recently acquired 50 more fuel tankers to empower youths in the transport sector.Mr. Chileshe also disclosed that the ministry would this month be announcing the date for submissions of applications.He stated in an interview that the ministry has come up with the new guidelines because the ones that existed before made it look like everyone was eligible for the empowerment program.‘’We are coming up with guidelines for the program, the guidelines that existed before made it look like things were free for all but we have new stipulated guidelines,’’ he said.Mr. Chileshe said the ministry was making sure that it does everything necessary to ensure that there is transparency and accountability.He revealed that the minister, Elvis Nkandu would […]
