Government has postponed the reopening of primary and secondary schools which was scheduled for 10th January 2022 to 24th January 2022 due to a surge in covid19 cases.Education Minister Douglas Syakalima explains that decision was made in consultation with the ministry of Health following the upswing in the number of covid19 cases.Speaking during the announcement of the release of grade 7 and 9 results, Mr Syakalima says the decision to postpone the reopening of schools has also been made to allow more children get vaccinated against covid19.On the 27 December 2021 government extended the vaccinations program to children between the ages 12 and 18 after a spike in the number of children dying due to covid19.Meanwhile, Mr. Syakalima has announced that the 2021 grade 7 national progression to grade 8 is 100 percent as was the case during the 2020 grade 7 examinations.He says a total of 74,865 candidates out of the 409,441 who sat […]
