CONAKRY – The coup leader in Guinea, Colonel Mahamady Doumbouya says a government of national unity will be formed in a few weeks.He was speaking after meeting ministers from President Alpha Condé’s government.Col Doumbouya also ordered that no minister from Condé’s government should leave the country and that they must hand over their passportsHe said mining companies should continue with their work and the curfew is lifted in their work areasHe said there will be no witch-hunt of former ministers but justice will take its course.The coup leaders on Sunday ordered the country’s cabinet to attend yesterday’s mandatory meeting.They warned that those who refuse to attend the meeting will be considered rebels, a statement on state TV said.The UN, African Union, and regional body Ecowas have condemned the coup and called for a return to civilian rule.Meanwhile, São Tomé and Príncipe’s former Infrastructure Minister Carlos Vila Nova has won Sunday’s twice-postponed presidential run-off election.Nova was […]
