VICE President Inonge Wina has expressed shocked to learn of the displacement of villagers of Nsinde village in Simonga area in Livingstone District by a foreign national.Ms Wina has observed as a result of their displacement, the villagers have lost their communal land where their animals had been grazing from.She said there is no way that villagers can be displaced on the land they have occupied since time immemorial resulting in losing the grazing land for animals.This came to light when she met community leaders at Chrismar Hotel in Livingstone yesterday.During the meeting, Albert Lisuma, the senior headman for Nsinde village brought to the attention of the Vice President, their displacement by a foreign who purchased the land where the village is and consequently locals lost out.Headman Nsinde appealed to Ms Wina to intervene in the matter adding that their displacement has brought suffering among the people.The Vice President further said that she has noticed […]
