POLICE in Kapiri Mposhi have arrested a 30-year-old man for stealing Zesco power cablesThe man whose identity has been withheld, was arrested for exhuming a 50-meter 11 KV armoured cable worth over K25, 000.Central Province Commissioner of Police, Chola Katanga, confirmed the arrest in Kapiri Mposhi yesterday.Mr Katanga said a combined team of state and Zesco police cornered the suspect in an operation conducted on Sunday around 03:00 hours in Lukanda B area.This followed loss of electricity in the area.“The affected area experienced power outage and it was discovered that the outage was caused by vandalism on Zesco cables. State and Zesco police moved in the area where the suspect was arrested in the bush in possession of Zesco cables, others are on the run,” Mr Katanga said.
