Sat, 04 Mar 2017 09:16:42 +0000 HE Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has targeted to regulate 2,400 tools from various sectors of the industry in 2017 from the 2,124 standardised last year, says bureau head of marketing and public relations Hazel Zulu. Ms Zulu said the targeted number of instruments was in a bid to promote accurate measurements, enhance industrial efficiency and increase productivity which would result in economic growth. “Standardisation is a quality assurance activity that ensures that industry can safely and reliably use instruments to get the accurate measurement results they need in industrial production which can result in improved efficiency and productivity,” she said. Ms Zulu said in a statement that the bureau standardised 2,124 instruments in 2016, slightly higher than the 2,006 instruments regulated in 2015.
