Mr Tonga said that the real state of affairs in the country was not known to the outside world because they relied on information put on social media. In an interview with the Daily Nation, he said that online publications which were anti-government were painting a wrong picture of the country to the outside world. Mr Tonga noted that the country was being labelled as unsafe and under political tension because of misinformation. He warned that such innuendoes had the potential to scare away tourists and investors, hence the country losing out the much needed revenue.
