This follows the washing away of Sianankanga Bridge which connects the chiefdom to Kazungula and Zimba districts. Kazungula District Town Council secretary, Given Muleya and Nyawa Central Ward Councillor, Elias Siamibila, have confirmed the development to the Daily Nation in Livingstone. The duo disclosed in separate interviews that the bridge was washed away on Wednesday following the heavy downpour which the area has been experiencing in recent days. Mr. Siamibila said that the same bridge has been in a deplorable state for sometime now. “As a councillor I have been pleading with the Road Development Agency since 2013 to work on it but nothing has come forth. As we speak right now my people are stranded in Zimba, they can’t go back to Nyawa,” he said. […]
