Fri, 19 May 2017 10:20:25 +0000 By LINDA SOKO TEMBO POLICE in Lusaka have arrested a 30-year-old man of John Laing Edward Jere for obtaining money amounting to K1,550 by false pretences. Police public relations officer Esther Katongo, who confirmed the development to the Daily Nation, identified the victim as Greenwell Lambwe, 33, of the sane compound. Ms. Katongo said particulars of the offence were that Jere allegedly collected the K1,550 from Mr Lambwe on pretext that he would secure him employment in the Zambia Police as a police officer. She said the incident happened between 12th and 18th April, 2017, in Lusaka. “He was apprehended on May 15, 2017, by members of the public who surrendered him to the police,” Ms Katongo said. She appealed to members of the public to be wary of such fraudsters and avoid failing victim to them
