Announcing the results, KCM chief executive officer Steven Din noted that the 2017 financial year was ‘‘an extremely challenging year for copper producers’’, particularly Zambia. “I would like to thank the KCM team who have been relentless in driving operational efficiency across the business; we anticipate that these efforts, combined with the recovery in the copper price, will put KCM on a much stronger path in the financial year of 2018,” said Mr Din.
