And the minister said Zambian water bodies have not been affected by the Tilapia lake virus which has ravaged most East Asian countries. Mr. Katambo said Zambia’s fish deficit had reduced to 60, 000 metric tonnes from the initial 85, 000 metric tonnes owing to the execution of aquaculture projects in collaboration with stakeholders. “As a country, we have a deficit of fish but with fish farmers and projects that are being implemented with the loans from African Development Bank (AfDB) and other measures from Government, the graph is rising, we are managing.
