Literary this means that If you have dealings with dangerous people, you must be careful that they do not harm you. Those who embrace individuals and personalities with a long record of wrong doing, corruption, fraudulent misrepresentation and sharp practice must be prepared to bear the consequences of a fall out. Such people are opportunistic and enter relationships for their ultimate benefit. Any damage in the process is collateral and acceptable. Put in another way if you keep bad company you will need to be on your guard.
