Mon, 10 Oct 2016 09:23:39 +0000 THE Chess Federation of Zambia (CFZ) has organised an open chess tournament to commemorate Zambia’s 52nd Independence celebrations to which all players within Zone 4 have been invited. CFZ president Ericko Nshikokola told the Daily Nation that the tournament was to keep the players active since there was no major tournament coming ahead soon. Nshikokola however that the event should be taken seriously because it had the blessing of the international federation. He said the event was likely to bring together big names in chess as they would be looking to better their ratings, adding that upcoming players should seize the opportunity to improve their standing and gain the experience they needed.
