The immediate production and export of cannabis could solve some economic challenges brought by the negative impact of Covid-19, says Zambian Hemp Growers and Industries Association (ZamHemp) President Peter Sinkamba.The operationalisation of the cannabis industry Mr Sinkamba said, could boost the economy dramatically.Mr Sinkamba “We need additional revenue streams which should be able to assist the government provide the necessary budget support,” Mr Sinkamba, who is also Green Party President, said in an interview in Lusaka yesterday.He said the industry would be able to create job opportunities in the country.Mr Sinkamba hoped that the government would table the Industrial herbal bill and the controlled substances bill when parliament opens this month.
