PETER SICHALI and NOEL IYOMBWATHE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) consider undertaking continuous voter registration to capture all eligible voters including those that will be eligible before elections next year , United Progressive People(UPP)president Saviour Chishimba has said.Meanwhile Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) president Sean Tembo has said the four days voter registration extension period was not enough as more people are willing to register.In an interview Mr Tembo said that the fact that people are still turning out in good numbers is a sign that more people are willing to register as voters.And Dr Chishimba said it was important for ECZ to make the voter registration open and continuous so as to avoid de-franchising citizens who are eligible to vote in next year’s general elections.“There are those citizens that will be turning 18 years before August elections and the constitution does not provide a period for voter registration because some will be turn 18 […]
