By SILUMESI MALUMOTHE decision to institute a commission of inquiry to look into the privatisation is welcome because it will lay to rest a number of issues, United Party for National Development (UPND) has said.Monze Central Member of Parliament, Jack Mwiimbu, said the UPND and it’s president, Hakainde Hichilema, had welcomed the commission of inquiry ‘whole-heartedly.’Mr Mwiimbu said some citizens had raised a number of issues on the privatisation process which needed to be addressed.He said the issues which had been raised for some time now would only be resolved when a commission of inquiry was instituted.Mr Mwiimbu who is also opposition Chief Whip, said yesterday the decision made by President Edgar Lungu would enable citizens know what really happened during the process.But Mr Mwiimbu indicated that the probe into the privatisation should be transparent to give confidence to the citizens and investors.“As we proceed with the probe into the privatisation, we should not erode […]
