By PETER MALASHAWORKERS at Stalwart Investment Limited in Mkushi have protested demanding to be paid their three months’ salary arrears.The irate workers, who staged a protest within the company premises, have given management a 24-hour ultimatum in which to pay their dues or down tools.The workers, who spoke on anonymity for fear of victimisation, said their families were wallowing in poverty because of delayed salaries.According to the workers, Government has paid the company for the work they were doing but wondered why the firm was not paying them as well.Government engaged Stalwart Investment Limited to complete the 20.2km Mkushi township roads after terminating Karen motors’ contract in 2018.They lamented that they were failing to send children to school as they could not afford to pay school fees and added that landlords had evicted them from their houses because they had not paid rentals.“We have worked for three months now without being paid salaries.
