By MARTIN AKENDE in ChilubiPRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has directed the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit to increase the relief food allocation for flood victims in Mayuka area in Chilubi Swamps.The President’s directive follows an appeal from the traditional leaders that the current relief food allocation was not enough for the people.And President Lungu has said he will not end at meeting chiefs but will also start engaging headmen because they are closer to the people.Chiefs in Chilubi swamps yesterday appealed to government to increase the relief food allocation to flood victims in the area.Traditional leaders said this when they met President Edgar Lungu at Mayuka Primary School in Chilubi Swamps.President Lungu met various village headmen and women including three chiefs.And speaking through a representative Headman Sumbe, chiefs also appealed to Government to accelerate works on various projects.And at Mwanakasabi Secondary School, Headmen from Nsumbu area commended government for constructing two hospitals on the island and […]
